Hazaribag is known as the ‘city of thousand gardens’, which comprises of two persian words: hazar meaning is ‘one thousand’ and bagh meaning is ‘garden’. Hazaribagh is located in the Chhota Nagpur plateau, 93 Km away from Ranchi in the Indian state of Jharkhand. It is an attractive place with dense forests, rocks and lakes. Rajrappa temple is situated at the junction of rivers Damodar and Bhera, Rajrappa Temple is an ancient Hindu pilgrimage place to visit in the Hazaribagh. Hazaribag Wildlife Sanctuary

Hazaribagh Wildlife Sanctuary is located at a distance of 19 km from Hazaribagh. It is considered one of the oldest wildlife sanctuaries in India. It was established in the year 1954 to conserve wildlife and endangered species of flora and fauna. The park comprises tropical evergreen forests of bamboo and Sal trees. The river Koel flows through the forest for many medicinal plants to grow.
